Regular medical check-ups are important for early detection and prevention of health issues, as well as for establishing a baseline of health. The frequency of check-ups may vary based on age, medical history, and risk factors.
A medical check-up starts from the measurements of the vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and body temperature, up to the most specific tests needed to evaluate the physical and mental status of the client, in our case, the driver.
Techmed provides a series of medical tests, screenings, and consultations with healthcare professionals to assess the person’s current health status, identify potential health risks, and provide guidance for maintaining or improving their well-being.
During a medical check-up, various aspects of health are typically addressed, including; a physical examination to check overall physical health; blood tests to assess cholesterol levels, blood sugar, and other important markers of health; vaccinations check and updates on necessary vaccinations and immunizations; healthcare counselling to guide patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including advice on diet, exercise, stress management, and other lifestyle factors; imaging tests such as X-rays, ultrasounds, or other techniques necessary to identify any issues.
Techmed medical check-ups can be programmed with one or multiple members of our medical team to fit the most comprehensive evaluation of every individual’s overall health and wellbeing. Medical check-ups are also fundamental to starting a program of mental or physical training.
Mental training, often referred to as “mind training” involves a variety of techniques and practices aimed at enhancing cognitive, emotional, and psychological wellbeing driven by our Techmed team of experts in motorsport and sports psychology. It focuses on developing mental skills, resilience, and strategies to optimize performance, cope with challenges, and improve overall mental health. Some key aspects of mental training include:
Practising mindfulness and meditation is one of the many aspects of our training. It helps individuals become more aware of their thoughts and emotions, fostering a sense of presence and reducing stress. Another key factor is the visualization. Athletes often use visualization techniques to mentally rehearse their actions. In addition stress management, goal setting, emotional regulation and positive self-talk are the principal recommendations for reaching the target!
Finally mind-body connection is absolutely essential for athletes and especially racing drivers. Recognizing the interaction between mental and physical wellbeing ensures a holistic approach to health.
Mental and body training techniques are taught by Techmed trained professionals such as medical doctors sports medicine specialists, sport and motorsport psychologists, physiotherapists, mental coaches, and specialised counselors. They can be customized to individual needs and goals, helping individuals develop a strong mental foundation to thrive in the various aspects of their life. Just as physical training is essential for physical fitness, mental training is crucial for maintaining and enhancing mental health and performance.
